2 months
Yes, the time is flying and baby girl is get'n nice and pudgy!! We love it. Caleb is adjusting well, and of course, has his moments of whiny i-want-mommy-to-all-to-myself moments...those are fun... not to mention the all out tantrums... over say, things like wanting to leave a soggy diaper on his bum...but all in all, life is good and we are extremely grateful!!

Big Bro meets Lil Sis
We were excited to introduce Caleb to Victoria. My sister had Caleb for the day and brought him to the hospital. He spent time with baby Victoria and then went home for the night with Eric.
Caleb was enamored by her from the start and wanted to hold her....
This was his first time laying eyes on her...
He continues to do quite well with her. At times he points to his lap and wants to hold her. His big 'ole smacker kisses on her are the sweetest!

"Look what we did!"
That's what Ashley said, but she deserves the credit for the hard work today, and we don't deserve the credit for her healthy arrival. We still have her in the room with us. She has not been to the nursery yet, so she's warm, and pink and covered in white... We are amazed. Ashley didn't have an epidural and spent just four contractions pushing after hours of waiting for everything to align. The experience was quite different from Caleb's birth.
Here's the first look at Victoria Lynn

Eyes open and smiling for the camera. I think she'll be a ham like her big brother!

She's getting cleaned up, and we're starting to come down from the adrenaline that has kept us going since 7PM last night.
Thank you all for the well wishes and prayers. He is good all the time.
Stats that I have available:
- Born 9/6/09 at 11:00AM even
- 6lbs 6 oz (her brother was 7lbs 7oz)
- length 20"
- seems to have all her parts including a daddy's heart melting pouty cry
more when it's available...
brief update
The Pitosin is having the desired effect. Ashley is having regular contractions about 2-3 minutes apart. Still quite a ways to go, yet. I'm so proud of her!
She's almost here!
Eric:
So over dinner Saturday night, Ashley began to tell me about the early signs of labor that she was experiencing. She has been saying for a couple weeks that our Baby Girl would be coming early. I (foolishly) had been telling her that it was wishful thinking. Over dinner she began to give evidence. Right after dinner she was convinced and so was I.
So we made quick arrangements for Caleb to stay with Granny and Grandpapa (they even picked him up!) and packed the hospital bag that we had neglected to prepare. I was convinced we had another week... Ashley then began to move from one end of the house to the other, faster than I could keep up, cleaning, straightening and preparing. Just after 10PM, I made her take a nap. The doctor had given us a deadline of being at the hospital by midnight. She showered and was ready to leave at 11:30PM. We had an uneventful trip to the hospital, though we were followed by Raleigh's finest until just before the hospital entrance. I guess I was speeding and he let me slide.
Here's Ashley as she arrived at the hospital:
So here we are a little over 4 hours later; there has not been much progress. The hospital staff confirmed that Ashley's water had broken prior to arrival (that was what convinced me), and that she is having contractions, even if she doesn't feel them very much. They plan to give her a drug before 5AM to stimulate her body to progress along the labor path (Pitocin), since her water has broken, and the risk of infection increases the longer our little girl stalls.
Ashley is taking a brief nap after running laps around the hospital halls. Well she didn't actually run as much as she swayed, but she was moving faster than me. I need to quit tapping this keyboard and let her get some real rest. Will keep you updated as much as possible.
Thanks for the prayers and encouragement!
